Gdynia, Poland

Dear Family and Friends,

Chuck and I were really getting into this cruise....everyday a new port.

Our next country is Poland.  The ship docked in the port of Gdynia.   We got off the ship, we then hired a taxi to take us to Gdansk, known as the "Marine Capital" of Poland.  Our purpose was to visit the historic section of the town.

This city is located about 35 kilometers from where our shipped docked.

As you can see, it is quite charming.

The large building in the photo below has an arch in the middle that leads to the river.  This building is known as the "Golden Gate."

Charming old buildings lined the river.  It was almost like you could look back in time and see the bustling activity that went on here.

This street was lined with stores anxious to get the tourists money.  They even set up outside booths for those who didn't want to go inside and shop.

Here is Chuck showing off the treasure he found.  An amber pipe.  I think it is for show, it doesn't look like it would be comfortable for smoking.

As you can see from the pictures, the weather was not the best...we had rain showers off and on.

We took a taxi back to Gdynia and had a nice lunch. After lunch I headed back to the ship to put my feet up.  Chuck stayed in town and had a good time exploring and shopping before returning to the ship.

Another good day.

Love,
Nancy
