Dear Family and Friends,
Our friends, Jenny and Chris, made the front page of El Tiempo today.
El Tiempo (a local newspaper) has an article about them and other expats who are coming to Cuenca.
If you would like to read the full article pick up a copy of today's El Tiempo or you can read it at this link. Click here.
On the Watson news scene, Chuck returned from the U.S. on Saturday afternoon. We are so glad that he is back where he belongs.
He actually arrived in Guayaquil on Friday night late. He spent the night at the Howard Johnsons and came to Cuenca on Saturday. He had a ticket to fly to Cuenca but when he went to check in he was informed that the ticket he had was from Cuenca to Guayaquil, not Guayaquil to Cuenca.
Normally, this is not a big problem because you can change your ticket for a $10 fee. But on Saturday it was a problem because the flight from Guayaquil to Cuenca was completely booked. Instead of waiting for a standby seat, Chuck took a taxi to Cuenca and got home at about the same time as if he had flown.
Saturday night we had dinner with Nancy, Rich, Bruce and Charlie. We love these folks and are so thankful they are part of our lives. It was a fabulous meal and everyone had a wonderful time.
Sunday morning we headed out for our Sunday walk. After a few drops of rain we all jumped into a taxi and went to the Kookaburra for breakfast.
Sunday evening, Karen and Randy had us over to their new apartment for a wonderful dinner. They are getting settled in nicely. Randy is a fabulous cook.
Today, we are walking downtown to make up for yesterday. I can't get behind in my promise to myself.
Have a nice week.
Hugs,
Nancy (and Chuck)
