Last week we attended a bitter/sweet goodbye party for our friends, Larry and Linda Marler. They are moving in a couple of days to the Philippines.
They have lived in Cuenca for at least 5 years and they are the first expats we have known to move on to other pastures. Yes, we've known people to return to the U.S., but not to move away from Cuenca to keep searching for their retirement paradise.
When Larry first started considering Cuenca as a retirement option, he started a blog, retire-in-cuenca-ec.blogspot.com that has provided very valuable information for Cuenca wanna-be's and newcomers. He told me that he is going to blog about their adventure moving to the Philippines. I will put a link here when he tells me, so those of us who love them, can keep up with their new adventures.
When Linda arrived in Cuenca she was an instant hit. Such a sweet, loving lady. We will all miss her laugh. It will not be the same here after she moves.
Don't forget us here in Cuenca. We want to hear from you. Darn, we are going to miss you.
