January 6 is celebrated as Three Kings Day in many parts of the world. This is the day that the three wise men arrived in Bethlehem to visit the Holy family.
Here in Cuenca, January 6 is celebrated as The Day of the Innocents. This is when King Herod ordered all Israeli male children under the age of three to be killed.
The other day I spotted these thugs.
Take a close up look at what these guys have in their hands.
This year the parade of the innocents will be held a day early, tomorrow, January 5. It is a comic parade with young men dressed as all sorts of characters and depicting all sorts of situations. Quite irreverent and always a hoot to watch.
