San Sebastian, Spain

Dear Family and Friends,

I do not feel that this post will do justice to this beautiful city.  Mainly, because the weather is brisk and it has been drizzling most of the day.  San Sebastian is definitely a city to be enjoyed in much warmer weather.

San Sebastian sits on a beautiful Atlantic ocean bay.  It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities we have visited in Spain. Here is a picture I snatched from the internet to give you a feel of the city..

Here is Chuck looking out over the bay.

Since San Sebastian is on the boarder of France, a lot of the buildings remind me of the buildings we saw when visiting France. This is a beautiful building that is ocean side near the historic section of the city.  It was built in 1887 as a casino but when gambling was outlawed in 1924 it became a government building.

Cathedral as seen from the narrow streets of old town.

The cathedral from the portico across the street.  Of course it is much smaller but it reminds me of the cathedral in Rouen, France.

A beautiful fountain in the newer part of the city.

Some of the French looking buildings.

Now for the FOOD SECTION:

Did I say tapas????  Take a look at these:

Yummy!!!

Tomorrow we go to the airport to pick up our car.  We leased a new car and will be driving it the duration of our trip.

Love,
Nancy
