The Beautiful Coast of California

Dear Family and Friends,

We took about three days to drive from San Francisco to Los Angeles.  We drove Pacific Coast Highway all the way.

The views changed some as we proceeded south, but they were all breathtakingly beautiful.

In the north part a bit of the coast is beautiful tree lined highway.

and in this ghetto housing area near Carmel, the poor folks live in housing like this overlooking the coast.

Yep, it is for real.  A beach full of sea lions.

Like mother - like son.  Matt took tons of pictures.

We took pictures of the scenery and each other.

Matt looking for whales...they were out there.

We toured Hearst Castle and spent one afternoon in Monterrey at the aquarium after a delightful lunch on Fisherman's Wharf.

This is the nicest aquarium I have ever seen.  Below is Matt taking pictures of the fish.

The swirl of fish, in the middle of the picture below, are sardines.  They swim like that for protection, all together they look like one big fish.

I'm not sure what these are, but they are alive.

My favorites were the jelly fish.

They were so exotic looking.

My next post will be about our adventures in Hollywood.

Thanks for taking your time to read this post....sending love out to you all.

Nancy
